Amy Eileen Koester

My work is an exploration of color and form in nature; a pink and gold sunrise at the beach, mountains that remind me of a giant sleeping under an enormous quilt, sunlight sprinkled across green leaves or the simple beauty of a butterfly hovering over a scattered flowers.

I choose to work with fabric and metal because I love the tactile qualities of fabric contrasting with the rigidity of metal. They seem more alive than the surface of a painting that is forever two dimensional.
